Letters Opposing Cuts to the EPA Budget

December, 2017 – As Congress considered the Trump Administration’s proposal to slash funding for the EPA (and environmental justice programs and grants in particular), member organizations of the Environmental Justice Health Alliance issued a series of letters urging Congress to reject Trump’s reckless budget.

The letters, sent from communities of color or low-income areas dealing with health and economic problems related to industrial pollution, describe how EPA programs have made a positive impact in their communities—both economically and environmentally.  They also call on Congress to maintain EPA funding and programs which have been instrumental in improving people’s lives in their neighborhoods.
